2018 Bear Archery Compound Bow Line-Up

Bear Archery has introduced its 2018 compound bow line and has unveiled 4 new high performance hunting bows at the head of their line-up that form part of the new Legend Series. The bows are the Kuma, Kuma LD, Sole Intent and Approach HC. The bows all continue on the pursuit of speed and has made further steps is finding the smoothest and most comfortable release possible.

A couple of other new bows have been introduced to the market, the Approach and the new entry level hunting bow for adults, the Species. The new bows have provided a few new compact entries into the field along with some very versatile options. All bows that have been released for the 2018 have been loaded with vibration and noise suppression features as well as the latest limb technology. ​

Bear Kuma

​The 2018 Bear Flagship Bow 

The Kuma has been released for the first time in 2018 and it is part of the Legend Series. It uses the new H18 Hybrid Cam System and offers a smooth draw cycle that ends with a solid back wall. It is smooth with no hand shock when the arrow is released.

The bow is packed with a number of features such as a Roller HingeGuard which is designed to reduce lateral torque and the Max Pre-Load Quad Limbs distribute the weight evenly to ensure maximum power during release.

New silencing methods have also been introduced for the new season in the form of low profile SonicStops which are string recoil suppressors as well as the ShockWaves limb dampening system that reduces vibration and noise.

The bow has an IBO speed rating of 345 fps.

Bear Kuma LD

Long Draw Bow

Also released for the first time in the 2018 season, this is the Long Draw version of the new Kuma. This model offers a draw length range of 27 to 32 inches to meet the needs of the taller archers. Like the Kuma, the bow is powered by the H18 Hybrid Cam System and it remains as smooth and powerful with no hand shock upon release.

Bear Sole Intent

​Compact Short Draw Bow

The Sole Intent is another new bow that has been added to the Legend series. It is a short draw bow with a draw length range of 22”-27” and it is light weight, coming in at only 3.65 lbs. This is the compact hunting bow that will offer superior performance and will be perfect from the tree stand or from out of a ground blind when shooting from close quarters.

The bow is powered by a single cam system that offers a smooth draw cycle and an IBO speed rating of 295 fps. It measures 29” from axle-to-axle and uses the BearCage Technology to eliminate riser flex while not adding any unnecessary weight.

Features that have been included are the HingeGuard to reduce lateral torque and the Max Preload Quad Limbs. Vibration and noise suppression is provided by the ShockWaves limb dampener device and SonicStops for no string vibration.

Bear Approach HC

​High Power Hybrid Cam System

The Approach HC compound bow is the fourth bow in the 2018 line-up to be added as part of the Legend series. It is another compact hunting bow but this one has been equipped with the H15-6 Hybrid Cam system with DrawDial modules. The bow has a smooth draw cycle that delivers significant speed without the jolt of hand shock.

The bow uses the Lock Down Pocket system incorporating four pockets to vastly improve pocket to riser alignment. It is built with EnduraFiber Limbs for greater flexibility and an even distribution of weight load which will be an efficiency improvement.

Vibration and noise suppression is provided by the triple prong inclusion of SonicKnots which not only provide string dampening but also improve speed, the ShockWaves limb dampener device and SonicStops for no string vibration.

The bow is the ultimate introductory compound bow for shooters of all sizes and levels of experience. It has a wide draw weight range from 5 to 70 pounds as well as a draw length range that will suit every shooter, starting at a low of 12 inches and expanding out to 30 inches.

​Value For Money Hunting Bow

The Approach returns for the 2018 season. It is a perimeter weighted single cam bow that is smooth and comfortable with plenty of power and speed. It is also the value for money bow in the 2018 line-up.

When it comes to the specifications of the bow we can see that it sits somewhere in the middle in terms of frame size at 32” axle-to-axle and has a brace height of 6.25”. The bow has two peak draw weight options of 45-60 pounds and 55-70 pounds.

The Cruzer range of compound bows has been expanded even further with another entry into the line-up, new for the 2018 season. It is a particularly adjustable bow that can be set for any conditions and can be used by all types of ages and skill levels.
