When considering how to improve accuracy and make your shot more comfortable by improving the bow's balance, the best stabilizer for bow hunting is going to be a largely subjective choice. The type of compound bow you use, the purpose for which you will be using it and the places you’re going to be using it will all be important factors.
A good bow stabilizer for hunting compound bows helps to keep the bow steady when at full draw and will also reduce movement after the shot.
So, what are you looking for in a bow stabilizer used for hunting? Ideally it will be nice and compact, it will allow for some fine tuning adjustment, it will help balance the bow and it will dampen movement and vibration at the shot.
To get the maximum benefit from your front stabilizer you could also add a sidebar offset stabilizer.
Some or all of the requirements mentioned above may be your priority and this is going to help you to decide which stabilizer to buy.
The stabilizers that are listed below cover the necessary features to a greater or lesser degree.
We have presented a list of bow stabilizers that have been rated as some of the top and most popular for bow hunting. As well as identifying the make and model we have included the length of the stabilizer, it's weight and the retail price that has been recommended by the manufacture which should only be used as a rough guide.

Feature Descriptions of Hunting Stabilizers
Now that we have taken a brief look at the different types of hunting bow stabilizers that are available we will spend a little more time talking about the various features that are particular to each make and model.
Bee-Stinger Sport Hunter Xtreme Stabilizer
This stabilizer features a solid carbon fiber shaft that gives it extreme stiffness while keeping the weight to a minimum.
The vibration dampening is achieved by the inclusion of a Sims Harmonic dampener and deresonator that work in concert to keep riser vibration to a minimum at release.
If you wish to fine tune the balance of the bow the Sport Hunter Xtreme gives you that option through the one ounce removable weights that sit on the end of the stabilizer.
The Sport Hunter Xtreme is available in a choice of three different lengths: 6”, 8” or 10” as well as a wide range of camo or color options.
Bee-Stinger Pro Hunter Maxx Stabilizer
The Pro Hunter Maxx provides a great deal of control at the shot thanks to the additional stabilizing weight that is added to the end of the unit.
The vibration dampening takes place through the Sims Harmonic internal dampener along with the de-resonator at the end.
The fine tuning of the balance comes though the three weights at the end, 2 of which are 4 ounce weights and one is a 2 ounce weight.
What you get is a bow that gives the shooter the balance and vibration dampening that will improve performance. It also allows the shooter to perfectly tailor the set up to their own personal needs.
Ktech Hexcor 5 Twin Stabilizer
This stabilizer has been made from CNC machined 6061-T6 aluminum and it features a hexagonal honeycomb design for a combination of light weight and strength. It measures around 5 inches in length.
Inserted into the body of the stabilizer are a couple of Mathews products, a Harmonic Dampener and two Harmonic Stabilizers.
There are some of grooves machined into the port that allows you to position in different places and combinations. This gives the hunter the ability to tune the stabilizer so that it can be matched exactly to the individual needs of each shooter.
The stabilizer is available in Black, Lost Camo, Lost Camo AT and Carbon Fiber finishes.
Ktech Hexcor 7 Stabilizer
As with the Hexcor 5, this stabilizer is made from CNC machined 6061-T6 aluminum and the same hexagonal honeycomb design giving it strength and support. The difference is that this is a longer stabilizer, measuring 7.5 inches.
The stabilizer use one Harmonic Stabilizer and two Harmonic Dampeners all of which are created by Mathews Archery.
This stabilizer is just as tunable as the smaller version with plenty of options to reposition the weights until they have achieved the ideal balance for the bow.
The stabilizer is available in Black, Lost Camo, Lost Camo AT and Carbon Fiber finishes.
Dead Center Dead Silent Carbon Stabilizer
This stabilizer has been designed to offer extreme rigidity and balance in a package that is also extremely silent. It is made from Ultra Ridged 5/8” Pultruded Carbon tubing.
The key to reducing vibration comes from the added o-rings and BowJax both of which dampen the shot noise. They also give the shooter the chance to add and remove them as required to fine tune the feel.
The end cap that accepts Custom Balance Weights and BowJax accessories is precision CNC Machined 6061-T6 aluminum.
The weight of the bare 8” stabilizer is 4.8 oz which is then increased to 7.8 oz once the dampening devices are added.
The Carbon Dead Silent Stabilizer is also available as a 6” and a 10” version.
Limbsaver LS Hunter Pro Bow Stabilizer
This is actually the original LS Hunter that has had a couple of 2 ounce weights included into it.
The stabilizer starts with a sleek carbon fiber frame that has then been furnished with a range of quality vibration dampening devices.
The dampening technology starts with a removable Broadband node that is made from Limbsaver’s proprietary NAVCOM (Noise and Vibration Control Material) technology. At the end of the stabilizer it is possible to tune it by adding from 2 to 4 ounces of weight.
The LS Hunter Pro measures 10 inches long and weighs 10.2 ounces when all of the weights have been added. The bare stabilizer itself only weighs 6.2 ounces.
It is available in a range of patterned finishes including Realtree APG, Realtree Xtra Green, Next Vista, Mossy Oak Break-Up Infinity, Lost Camo, Lost Camo AT or Muddy Girl Camouflage.
Limbsaver HD S-Coil Bow Stabilizer
This is a redesign of the original S-Coil stabilizer which has proven to be extremely popular for many years. It remains one of the best value for money stabilizer options available.
It makes use of the Limbsaver proprietary NAVCOM material which does the work of removing vibration and sound incredibly effectively.
The HD S-Coil still comprises the increased surface area through the spiral design which muffles sound and smooths the shot by reducing bow jump. But it has had a redesign and that has been done to improve the ability to reduce vibration even more.
The stabilizer remains at its original 4.5” length giving the hunter a minimal profile making it ideal for use in overgrown locales.
It is available in a range of patterned finishes including Carbon, Mossy Oak, Muddy Girl, Realtree Xtra Green, Vista, Realtrea APG, Lost Camo and Lost Camo AT.
Axion SSG Stabilizer
This is a small profile stabilizer that is also light weight and sits close to the frame of the bow. The SSG assignation stands for Silencer Second Generation.
It has been designed with cut-outs so that it cuts through wind to reduce its effect on accuracy.
Located within the stabilizer are 3 Mathews Harmonic dampeners that provide the vibration and noise reduction features.
Another of the features of this stabilizer that is quoted by the company is the reduction of side torque thanks to the brass stabilizer in motion that placed at the end.
It is available in a number of different patterns including black, pink, Lost Camo, Lost All Terrain, Realtree Xtra, Lost XD or Lost OT.
Axion 7" Cloud Lite Stabilizer
This is a series of stabilizers that has been designed to offer versatility to the hunter. It has a lightweight CNC machined frame and within the frame are Mathews Harmonic Stabilizers.

What Does A Bow Stabilizer Do?
The primary purpose of the bow stabilizer is, as the name implies, give some added stability to the compound bow as you are going through the draw and release cycle.
The additional benefits of this stability is the vibration reduction, which helps to increase accuracy, and noise reduction while adds to the hunter’s stealth.
The stabilizers that have been listed on this page all provide slightly different ways to achieve these goals. Small variations in size and weight is where the hunter comes in to customize the purchase to suit their particular hunting needs.
For some it is important to keep everything as compact as possible and that's why there is also an extensive selection of particularly short bow stabilizers for hunters available.
This ability to set up your hunting equipment so that it is personalized to the individual is another important key to hunting success.
