Get the most out of your Mossberg Patriot rifle by buying the best scope base possible. Ensuring the scope mounts solidly to the receiver of the rifle is the perfect first step to accuracy and consistency.
Using the correct base and/or mount is essential for scope accuracy as well as avoiding damage to your equipment.
The Mossberg Patriot Hunting rifle comes standard with a Weaver scope base to get you started. But you don’t necessarily have to conform to that set-up and can step up to high quality or high performance accessories.
The scope bases and mounts will suit models such as the Patriot Hunting, Night Train, Predator, LR Hunter and Youth.
Take into account the caliber you are chambered in and get yourself either a long action or short action base if that’s the way you intend on going.
Listed below is a selection of scope bases frequently recommended. We have added a list of the main features of each base as well as the company’s MSRP. Further down the page is a more detailed review of each base.

Setting up the optics system on your Mossberg Patriot will be a matter of personal taste to a large extent.
The height of the base and scope ring combination will be determined by the type of terrain you will be shooting over, the distance you expect to be taking your shots among other aspects.
It is important to ensure you use quality parts. High powered rifles produce high levels of shock and your mounts are going to have to withstand repeated rounds.
We have presented both Picatinny rail bases and scope rings that give you the option of either building a solid combination or the choice of mounting a scope base directly to the rifle.
Ultimately, your goal is to safely secure your scope to your rifle so that it won’t move and will enhance rather than hinder your shooting performance.
All of the scope bases discussed in this article will provide you with the ability to maintain accuracy with consistent performance.
