The Harris HBL Bipod is part of the ultralight range of bipods (as the “L” signifies). It has an adjustment height ranging from 9” to 13” and the legs are standard adjustable legs with spring return. Essentially, it is among the most popular bipods in the Harris range for both its simplicity and quality of the components used in its manufacture.
The leg length range puts this particular model in the middle height range and it is perfect for both prone shooting and while sitting. The most notable feature about this model is the weight which comes in at only 10.8oz and it is known for both the lightness as well as its compact nature.
Although the bipod is light in weight it is still quite a sturdy piece of equipment and will stand up to use with high-powered rifles. The legs are spring-loaded and telescoping that will adjust quickly and have manual friction grip locks.
A comparable bipod in the Harris range is the HBR which also sports the standard legs. However the HBL is both longer and lighter than the HBR. Although it is light in weight it provides a good solid platform support from which to shoot. The legs fold parallel to the barrel for easy carrying and it is possible to choose to mount it so the legs either point forward or to the rear.
The bipod is easy to install and will clamp to the quick detachable sling swivel stud on bolt-action and single shot rifles. If the rifle does not have a factory installed quick detach stud you can purchase an adaptor separately.
The bipod, as with all Harris Bipods, is 100% made in the USA.
